The Washington Ice Dogs program relies 100% on volunteers to staff our organization. Our team is overseen by a Board of Directors. Volunteer coaches and high school mentors provide coaching and on-ice support at practices and games.
The Washington Ice Dogs were founded in 1999 to give children and young adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to play ice hockey. With the encouragement and support of our friends at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel, MD, we skate every Saturday morning from October through March.
